The internship is located in the Sustainable Livelihoods Unit (SLU), Drug Prevention and Health Branch (DHB), Division for Operations (DO), (COMPANY NAME) Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Vienna (Austria). This internship position is for an initial period of six months, commencing in March 2020. The intern will work under the direct supervision of professional staff of the Sustainable Livelihoods Unit.
The internship is UNPAID and full-time.
Interns work five days per week (40 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.

Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background; the intern's assigned office as well as the internship period. Duties will focus on supporting both the Global Programme for Combating Wildlife and Forest Crime as well as the Global Partnership for Alternative Development, and may include, but are not limited to:
*Assistance in conducting research on wildlife and forest crime and alternative development
*conduct legal research on WLFC
*upload laws, case law and other documents to SHERLOC
*assist in the review of legal documents on WLFC
*Assistance in drafting and preparing official documents
*Attending and taking notes at meetings
*Assistance in conducting document, legal and internet research
*Assistance during conferences
*Assistance in the preparation of web-presentations
*Assistance in the evaluation of projects
*Assistance in compiling statistics
*Assistance in media analysis
*Assistance in preparing briefing notes and speech-writing

To qualify for an internship with the (COMPANY NAME) Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
* Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
(a) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
(b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent)
(c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation (OFFICIAL PROOF FROM THE UNIVERSITY IN SUPPORT OF ONE OF THE ABOVE OPTIONS HAS TO BE ATTACHED TO THE INSPIRA APPLICATION)
* Be computer literate in standard software applications
