Internship for the Nordic Desk at the (COMPANY NAME) Regional Information Center (UNRIC).
UNRIC represents the (COMPANY NAME) Department of Global Communication in Western Europe, supports the (COMPANY NAME) agencies in Brussels and cooperates with the European institutions.
The Center is organized in nine geographic and thematic areas, covers 21 countries in Western Europe and works in 13 languages. The Nordic Desk works together with all the relevant agents of the Nordic society - public institutions, Government, private sector, non-governmental organizations, civil society and the media. Our mission is to inform and involve the Nordics countries on major themes and causes of the (COMPANY NAME).
The Center produces communication materials, supports partners with communications campaigns and events organization and answers questions from the public on all matters related to the Organization and its campaigns.
The Internship lasts 4 to 6 months and takes place at the UNRIC office in Brussels. (The internship may take place remotely if sanitary conditions require it).
The internship is UNPAID and full-time.
Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of the head of the Nordic Desk office.
The Intern may be responsible for the following duties:
* Media monitoring.);
* Maintaining content on official social media accounts and other official digital communication outlets;
* Creating and editing infographics or social videos for posting on official digital communication outlets;
Assisting in organizing events in Brussels and the Nordic countries;
* Contributing ideas to projects for enhancing the reach of official digital communication outlets, identifying opportunities to reach a wider audience;
* Monitoring the usage of website and Nordic social media accounts using analytics and other statistical tools and techniques;
* Perform other related duties, as required.

To qualify for a UN internship, the following conditions must be met:
1. Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
* Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
* Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or
* Have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation;
2. Be computer literate in standard software applications;
3. Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the UN and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and
4. Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

English and French are the working languages of the (COMPANY NAME) Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English and Danish or Finnish or Norwegian or Swedish is required.
