\nYour creative flair and passion for food will lead your culinary team to superior food experiences to our guests. Though your effective leadership and innovation, you will create concepts and menus that place Fairmont Palliser's Restaurant on the map as the "Hottest Place in Town".

\n\tWhat you will be doing: \n\n\n
Reporting to the Executive Chef | Director, F&B, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:\n\n\n\t
* Work in partnership with the Restaurant General Manager you will execute the smooth and flawless operation of the Restaurant\n\t
* Accountable for managing the day to day operations of the kitchen with active presence on the floor, leading your team to deliver service excellence.\n\t
* Lead the Restaurant's culinary apprenticeship program\n\t
* Accountable for driving revenue and profit through the development and implementation of menu design, strategies, practices and promotions while in keeping with the overall concept\n\t
* Effectively manage the departmental budget through purchasing of production needs, inventories, pricing, and labour cost controls, Effectively recruit and onboard new colleagues\n\t
* Train and lead the team in all aspects of the department and ensure service standards are followed\n\t
* Promote the growth and development of internal talent\n\t
* Actively manage manager restaurant social media accounts in partnership with the Restaurant GM, and Marketing Manager, in accordance with marketing standards (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)\n\t
* Maintain the safety and sanitation of the kitchen\n\t
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective operation of the hotel\n\t
* Working in partnership with the Restaurant GM, create and maintain all restaurant menus in keeping with the overall restaurant concept.\n\t
* Constantly drive innovation to be the "Hottest Place in Town" by actively promoting your restaurant within the community\n\t
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment\n\t
* Ability to work cohesively and collectively as part of a team\n\t
* Add diplomas/certifications required if needed\n\t
* \n\t
* Your experience and skills include: \n\t
* Demonstrated passion for the industry and guests\n\t
* Knowledge of current trends\n\t
* Previous leadership experience in Kitchen/Culinary environment\n\t
* Proven ability to drive revenues and profit, without sacrificing colleague and customer experiences\n\t
* Proven ability in menu concept and design, effective marketing, and on-line reputation management\n\t
* Strong business acumen\n\t
* Excellent communication and organizational skills\n\t
* Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities\n\t
* Excellent work ethic with a high degree of responsibility\n\t
* Abilitty to work cohesively as part of a team and build relationships \n\n\n

* Centrally located in downtown Calgary, The Fairmont Palliser is the city's premier, landmark hotel. With 407 elegantly appointed guest rooms, and the recent completion of an extensive renovation project, The Fairmont Palliser is Defining the Iconic Calgary Experience. \n\t
* Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.\n\t
