What You'll Be Doing

The EAML Risk, Insights & Optimization team and EAML Strategy lead the Enterprise AML 's divisional strategy to efficiently and effectively identify and mitigate risks associated with money laundering or terrorist financing activities at (COMPANY NAME). As an intern, you will assist the team in identifying continuous improvement opportunities and implementing strategic initiatives to right-size processes in line with (COMPANY NAME)'s regulatory obligations and resources. You will play a key role in improving operational effectiveness and driving the business forward. You will be working in a highly collaborative environment to solve complex problems through our Design Thinking Process and deliver meaningful changes to streamline operations processes.

Important Information

* You must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education to be eligible, however, you do not need to be in a registered Co-Op program to be considered for this role
* You are a university student pursuing a Bachelor's degree. Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics major is an asset, but not required
* Further clarity on the work location will be provided at the time of your interview. Please note all employees must work within their current jurisdiction and must reside within Canada. All (COMPANY NAME) Co-op positions require you to be based in Canada for the duration of the term

How You'll Succeed

* Strategy Development - You will develop and execute strategy initiatives to support the business unit to operate more efficiently and effectively while meeting operational targets and regulatory expectations. You will adapt to ever increasing change and will work on continuously improving the operational effectiveness and performance of the EAML program.
* Analytical Thinking -Analyze risk and operational metrics, including building insights and data-driven strategies, leveraging data visualizations, leading clear implications and recommendations to guide strategy by providing evidence-based analytical solutions.
* Teamwork - Actively participate in team discussions and contribute to creating a fun and collaborative work atmosphere. Support the transformation of conceptual ideas into clear and compelling opportunities.
* Creativity - The solutions to most of the problems we solve are usually not clear. Outside of the box thinking and sharing your own point of view is important. Learn how to work well with ambiguity.
* Data Management - Creation and maintenance of metrics, reports and dashboards to identify, measure, and quantify ML/TF risk and operational health for the Financial Intelligence Units (FIU) using your database management/querying, and computer programming/software expertise (VBA, Python, SQL).
* Communication Skills - Excellent verbal and writing skills to effectively articulate ideas and opinions that involve analysis, interpretation, and assessment.
