The mandate of the (COMPANY NAME) Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is to promote sustainable and inclusive development and regional connectivity in the Asian and Pacific region. ESCAP's role as a regional development arm of the (COMPANY NAME) Secretariat is to support its membership with policy-oriented research and analysis, normative support and technical assistance and capacity building, to respond to the development priorities and changing needs of the Asian and Pacific region.
The (COMPANY NAME) Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (CSAM) is a regional institute under ESCAP. The objectives of the Centre are to enhance technical cooperation among the members and associate members of ESCAP as well as other interested States Members of the (COMPANY NAME), through extensive exchange of information and sharing of social-economically and environmentally viable machinery and technology, and to promote research and development and extension of agricultural engineering, including machinery and rural industry for agricultural productivity gains and poverty reduction in the region.
The internship is UNPAID and full-time. The minimum duration of an internship is two months and can be extended up to a total period of six months. Interns work five days per week (37.5 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.
Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background; the intern's assigned office as well as the internship period. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
*Provide support for computer information systems, website and applications;
*Install computer application systems software and hardware;
*Perform troubleshooting for various applications;

(a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or,
(b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).

English and French are the working languages of the (COMPANY NAME) Secretariat. Fluency in English is required for the internship. Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
