Job Description:

Join (COMPANY NAME) to transform urban logistics: autonomous, emission-free & safe! We are on a mission to change the way we think about delivery by providing semi-autonomous, human-monitored delivery robots as a service for on-demand urban logistics. We believe that seeing delivery robots on the bicycle lanes will be as normal as seeing human-driven delivery bicycles. (COMPANY NAME) will disrupt the delivery industry in many ways, not only changing the way we think about delivery but also providing for cleaner cities with fewer emissions and traffic.

As a Robotics and Systems Engineer at (COMPANY NAME), you work at the intersection of hardware and software in product development, engineering, building the first few prototypes, building products with standards and learning with the ultimate goal to develop amazing robots and to improve systems for street readiness. Your focus will be on improving our autonomous driving stack. You will work directly with the founders of the team to build the new revolution in last-mile delivery.

* Product development: develop self-driving capabilities from the ground up using LINUX, embedded systems using frameworks like ROS, NVIDIA SDK etc. Interfacing sensor systems like IMU; RTK GPS, cameras, Intel realsense cameras, LIDARS with a drive computer, evaluating and finally developing a tele-monitoring stack for our robot systems.

* Autonomous driving development: testing and implementing SLAM based algorithms, driving the development of mapless autonomous driving for robots, using ROS.

* Prototyping: Have a DIY mentality, affinity towards crafts work screwing things together for making the first few prototypes that will be deployed as pilots across Europe.

* Learning: You will work directly with a PhD on robotics, who worked at MIT MediaLab and a PhD from a leading robotics research institute in Germany. The rigour and pace at which we will execute, learn and adapt to things will foster the mentality of world class working culture. Be ready already!

* You recently graduated with a degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in any engineering streams related to robotics (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics, and Computer Science)

* Affinity towards machine learning/deep learning for autonomous driving software

* You have a strong DIY mindset with a curiosity for mechatronic systems and autonomous vehicles.

* You have to demonstrate that you have worked in the intersection of hardware and software systems. Prior internship experience helps, but not necessary.

* You like responsibility and being in charge of your own projects. You are a natural self-learner.

* You have strong practical experience in LINUX, Python, C & C++ for embedded and higher level systems. It is a plus if you have worked with robotics frameworks like ROS

* Become part of the (COMPANY NAME) family - You'll work with a highly experienced and motivated set of exceptional people. Our founders have worked at BCG, BMW, i Ventures, Fraunhofer Institute, MIT MediaLab, TU Dortmund before

* Get involved in the Berlin startup ecosystem - We are based out of MotionLab in Berlin, one of the leading hardware incubators. You will have access to an incredible network of people plus all the cool gadgets included at MotionLab (3D printers, laser cutters, electronics lab, etc.)

* Make an impact - We are moving incredibly quickly. You will be proud of your achievements during your internship and also architect a product that will become globally important.

* Flexible work hours plus work from home options - We value output, not time spent in the office. But be sure that you will working with us in Berlin at our research space at MotionLab executing the build up of the first few prototypes.

* No bullshit attitude - we value honest feedback and do not care for hierarchy. Moving forward is priority #1 and we believe that this can only be achieved by looking at the hard facts and not through politics
