CEC offers an extensive range of English language programmes for adults and juniors in addition to arranging accommodation, social activities and excursions for students. 

Purpose of Role
To provide administrative assistance to the Admin Department in CEC. This internship will be of interest to candidates looking to practice and improve their English language  and also develop their administration skills in a busy school department.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist the Admin or Academic Department in various administration tasks 
• Use the school database system to generate documents & make notes
• Cover the reception desk of the school to include answering the telephone & dealing with face to face enquiries where possible
• Assist with weekly reports and the quality assurance procedures of the school
• Assist the Accommodation Officer in generating accommodation documents
• Preparation of student ID cards for arriving students 
• Liaise with admin staff to ensure paperwork for students is up-to-date
• Weekly student file management
• Monitor break times in main school building, and ensuring coffee machine is adequately stocked with coffee pods, cups etc
• Daily post & recording of same
• Assist with stationary stock control 
• Assist the Activities Co-Ordinator with research on upcoming events in Cork
• Preparation of activity information posters/documents
• Assist with marketing projects & research 
• Monitor student Facebook groups and prepare reports on this for the marketing team
• Contribute to blog content & creation for the school’s social media platforms
• Assist with photo & video content and creation for the school’s social media platforms
• Ad hoc duties as and when they arise

You will receive support and training as part of the team for the above tasks.

Candidate Requirements:

Relevant Experience/skills
• You have at least B2 level of English with very good speaking skills. Candidates take the CEC placement test to confirm level. 
• The ideal candidate will be willing to learn all about the systems and procedures in the school and to ensure that all procedures are carefully followed. Full training will be provided and you will learn aspects of various departments to provide back up in these areas when necessary. 
• You will have good interpersonal skills, be organised, a good communicator and have good customer service skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail will be important for this role
• You will be outgoing and confident, reliable and a team player
• The Administration Department is an extremely busy department with a wide variety of work and workloads vary from day to day therefore flexibility it essential.
