Job Summary

The Corporate Life & Pensions (CLP) Proposition team is responsible for the pricing, development and maintenance of Zurich Life's Group DC, Group Risk, Longevity and Fund Propositions.

The team works closely with colleagues in sales and marketing as well as with EBCs and brokers to ensure our products remain competitive in terms of pricing and proposition.

There is also an increased focus on working with colleagues in IT and operations to contribute to the design and development of improved digitalised propositions and systems.

Your Role

As a CLP Propositions Actuary, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Head of CLP Propositions (ad interim) and use your technical, actuarial, commercial and problem-solving skills across a wide variety of activities outlined below:
* Pricing of Group DC & PRSA pension business.
* Support the pricing of Group Risk Schemes, and work the CLP Global team and with reinsurance partners
* Support the pricing of bulk annuity transactions.
* Support the on-going review of pricing practices, recommending improvements that meet best practice and commercial objectives.
* Collaborate with sales & marketing colleagues to ensure competitive pricing & proposition is maintained, while also ensuring profitability, and assist internally and externally with client management.
* Support the preparation of customer literature, such as policy documents.
* Lead or input into large pension scheme tender process.
* Support the on-boarding process for Group DC business.


* Project manage or input into IT projects.
* Contribute to the strategic plans for the corporate products, in particular the DC proposition. Working with our operations, sales, IT, and change management colleagues to develop plans for further enhancements to the overall DC proposition.
* Deliver accurate and timely pricing & product analysis to assist business decision making.
* Provide guidance and training to trainee actuaries to help their learning and performance.

The focus across these responsibilities will depend on business demands at the time and will vary throughout the contract. This is a challenging dynamic role, where you will have the opportunity to work with a broad range of stakeholders and across different products in a commercial environment.

Your Skills and Experience

* Qualified Actuary with experience working in a commercial role in a life insurance company or an EBC.
* Knowledge of Irish corporate benefits products and market developments
* Experience pricing & tendering for DC schemes and ideally group risk schemes of varied size
* Knowledge and experience working with reinsurance partners would be useful though not essential
* Experience in project managing or leading IT projects would be useful though not essential
* Longevity pricing experience would be an advantage
* Fund proposition experience would be an advantage
* Excellent communication and influencing skills
* Excellent at collaborating and working in a team, with a 'can-do' attitude
* Experience of managing a range of stakeholders both internally and externally

Additional Information

Primary work location is Blackrock. Position is Dublin-based but occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations.
