The Infrastructure Services & Operations Support team is a global organization of technical program managers that supports multiple Data Center and engineering teams that build and operate (COMPANY NAME)'s private cloud infrastructure. This infrastructure is one of the largest cloud systems in the world. We support development of Data Center automation products across a variety of areas to manage Rack Provisioning, Server Monitoring and Repairs, Asset Management, Decommissioning, Data Center Maintenance, Power Management, Building Facilities Monitoring, Alerting and Controls. We are looking for a Program Manager Intern with software systems design skills and a preference/experience to specialise in project management or process design and workflow definition. The ideal candidate l is expected to be analytical, detail-oriented and an effective communicator who, over time, will acquire deep learning of their team's data center infrastructure domain and software systems. The candidate will gain the opportunity to collaborate with software and server engineers within Meta's infrastructure organisation. By the end of the internship the individual will have collaborated on definition of system functionality, automation of workflows, re-iterative development automation functionality to help scale Meta's infrastructure and measurement of success. This is a 12 week summer internship opportunity in Dublin, taking place June to September 2022.

Program Manager, Intern - Data Center Automation Products Responsibilities

*

Manage one or more software projects with the goal to deliver new functionality to an existing software system used in our data centres

*

Gain experience of managing a project, to iteratively analyse, design, document, track development and test new functionality within the existing system

*

Fully participate in a cross-functional project team, comprised of engineers covering a range of areas

*

Articulate the requirements, solution, goals and milestones at the conclusion of each iteration

*

Apply an analytical, problem solving mindset and create a plan for solving defined problems within new system software

*

dentify dependencies, risks, issues, inefficiencies and bottlenecks and resolve issues by collaborating with project team members

*

Define metrics and project success indicators

Minimum Qualifications

*

Currently has or is studying for a Bachelors or Masters Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field

*

Understanding of software systems, product requirements, reiterative software development methodologies and planning (e.g. theory of/some experience of Agile, Kanban etc.)

*

Comfortable with technical systems design, engineering and can differentiate between as-is and to-be business process mapping

*

Analytical and problem solving mindset, including defining and running data queries to measure project success

*

Has collaborated within a team of peers on past project(s), scoping project team goals and stretch goals for a software system. Has collaborated with peers to plan each iteration, estimated work effort and timeline

*

Has lead team projects, adjusted project team goals and timeline and has executed delivery

*

Has made presentation on minimal prototype and/or incremental iterations of the software system, as a member of the project team. Experience communicating effectively, through proposal documents and presentations

*

Understands theory behind adoption blockers for end-users to, take-up and try out new system features

*

Strong interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within teams. Studying or aware of influencing strategies

Preferred Qualifications

*

Exposure to reiterative software development, coding or server (compute, storage) engineering

*

Knowledge of computer hardware, servers or network or storage technologies

*

Intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship/co-op
