This position is located in the UNICRI Liaison Rome Office. UNICRI Rome liaises with the Host Country, the diplomatic corps, the academic and business sectors and the Rome-based UN agencies as well as the civil society. In close cooperation with relevant counterparts, UNICRI Rome supports the communication for new projects; follows up on the ongoing projects financed by the Italian Foreign Ministry; facilitates meetings with Government officials for Heads of Units based in UNICRI Headquarters in Turin; and represents UNICRI in events in Rome. The internship is for an initial period of 2 months, with an opportunity of an extension up to a total period of six months. The Internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the programme, project or unit to which they are assigned.
Due to the current international COVID19 emergency and related containment measures and international travel restrictions, the first two months of this internship will be done in TELECOMMUTING, i.e. remotely from home. Therefore, applicants must be willing and prepared to undertake the internship remotely for a part or the entirety of the internship and must be able to telework and have all necessary arrangements and equipment to perform assignments in teleworking. Should the COVID19-related restrictions and measures be removed, internship can be continued from UNICRI's premises.
Duties of the intern include, but are not limited to:
−Translate press releases/articles/news from English to Italian.
−Assist in updating the Italian website wxx.xxxxxxxxx.xx.
−Assist in data collection.
−Conduct research and provide analysis on relevant issues.
−Assist in drafting and preparing background documents, reports, issue briefs, talking points, articles, presentations etc.
−Monitor regional and global news sources for articles and stories relevant to the project, programme or unit activities.
−Assist in maintaining databases.
−Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

To qualify for an internship with the (COMPANY NAME) Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
−Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
(a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or,
(b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of, a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).

Interns must keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and not publish any reports or papers based on such information except with the explicit written authorization of the Chief of CMU. On completion of their internship, interns are required to complete a substantive report on their assignments. This will be included in their file and will be forwarded, upon request, to the sponsoring institution, government body or private organization.
