This position is located in the UNICRI Liaison Rome Office. UNICRI Rome liaises with the Host Country, the diplomatic corps, the academic and business sectors and the Rome-based UN agencies as well as the civil society. In close cooperation with relevant counterparts, UNICRI Rome supports the communication for new projects; follows up on the ongoing projects financed by the Italian Foreign Ministry; facilitates meetings with Government officials for Heads of Units based in UNICRI Headquarters in Turin; and represents UNICRI in events in Rome. The internship is for an initial period of 2 months, starting from mid-February 2022, with an opportunity of an extension up to a total period of six months. The Internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the programme, project or unit to which they are assigned.
Due to the current international COVID19 emergency and related containment measures and international travel restrictions, the first two months of this internship will be done in TELECOMMUTING, i.e. remotely from home. Therefore, applicants must be willing and prepared to undertake the internship remotely for a part or the entirety of the internship and must be able to telework and have all necessary arrangements and equipment to perform assignments in teleworking. Should the COVID19-related restrictions and measures be removed, internship can be continued from UNICRI's premises.
− Translate press releases/articles/news from English into Italian.
− Assist in updating the Italian website wxx.xxxxxxxxx.xx.
− Assist in data collection.
− Conduct research and provide analysis on relevant issues.
− Assist in drafting and preparing background documents, reports, issue briefs, talking points, articles, presentations etc.
− Assist in the coordination, organization and implementation of the training activities organized in cooperation with UNICRI's Partners in Rome.
− Monitor regional and global news sources for articles and stories relevant to the project, programme or unit activities.
− Assist in maintaining databases.

To qualify for an internship with the (COMPANY NAME) Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
− Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
(a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or,
(b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of, a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
Preferable fields of study: foreign languages, literature, translation, journalism or other related fields.
In addition, interested candidates must:
- Be computer literate in standard software applications including MS Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point);
