We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Legal and Compliance Intern to join our team at Vanguard Mexico. This role provides hands-on exposure to legal and compliance processes and operations within the global financial services industry in Mexico and Latin America, with exposure to local and international compliance frameworks. You will work closely with regional legal and compliance teams in Mexico, Canada and the US, supporting day-to-day operations, regulatory research, and documentation. You will work closely with regional legal and compliance teams in Mexico, Canada and the US, supporting day-to-day operations, regulatory research, and documentation. Core Responsibilities
* Assist with compliance monitoring and reporting to ensure adherence to local and regional regulatory requirements.
* Support legal documentation processes, including drafting, reviewing, and organizing agreements and internal policies.
* Conduct research on regulatory developments, compliance best practices, and legal trends in Mexico and Latin America on topics such as anti-money laundering, counter-financing terrorism, data privacy, and financial regulation.
* Help maintain compliance systems and databases, track regulatory filings, and prepare reports for leadership.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (legal, compliance, business development) to support legal and compliance audits, client onboarding, and risk assessments.
* Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in law.
* Strong interest in legal, regulatory and compliance frameworks within financial services.
* Fluency in English and Spanish (both are required).
* Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret regulations and draft clear documentation.
* Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable to a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with compliance or document management tools is a plus.

Preferred Skills
* One year work experience.
* Familiarity with Mexican regulatory bodies (e.g., SHCP, CNBV, Banco de México).
* Understanding of global compliance frameworks (e.g., FINRA, UCITS, AML).
* Prior internship or academic experience in legal or compliance settings.
