The (COMPANY NAME) Global Service Centre (UNGSC) provides critical Logistics, Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications Technologies services and Training to all peacekeeping
and special political missions around the world.
These positions are located in the Service and Information Security Management Section (SISMS) section within the Service for Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications
Technologies (SGITT) umbrella. The UNGSC SGITT provides mission critical high availability information and communications technology support services to field operations and other (COMPANY NAME) agencies around the world via the provision of Application Hosting Services, Voice/Data/Video Connectivity Services and Satellite Communications Support Services.
SISMS performs cross-cutting functions related to information security, risk management, information technology service management, and common event monitoring. The Section's main objective is to manage common processes delivered by SISM in a holistic way so they are connected and do not operate in silos that are counterproductive to efficient and consistent SGITT service delivery.
These positions are located in Valencia, Spain. The internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week (37.5 hours). We are seeking interns to start as soon as possible and
for a maximum period of six (6) months.
All incumbents will perform the following duties among others;
* Assist team colleagues and other stakeholders in activities related to IT monitoring, IT service management and IT security.
* Assist in the preparation and drafting of SOP's and other documentation related to the unit's area of responsibility;
* Assist in the preparation and drafting of reports and other documentation related to the unit's area of responsibility;
* Assist with the organization of section, customer meetings and presentations
* Support the coordination and schedule of activities related to IT monitoring, IT service management and IT security.
* Report, analyse data and communicate progress using approved reporting templates;
* Other duties as required;

To qualify for an internship with the (COMPANY NAME) Internship Programme, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
* Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
* Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or
* Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation.
Be computer literate in standard software applications;
Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the (COMPANY NAME) and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and
Have demonstrated the ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

English and French are the working languages of the UN. For the internship advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official (COMPANY NAME) language, or the language of the duty station is desirable.

The internship is UNPAID and full-time (i.e. an intern is expected to work five days per week (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) and there should be no expectation of employment within the UN after an internship.
