This three months internship (15 May to 15 August 2023) is located in the Forestry and Timber Section of the (COMPANY NAME) Economic Commission for Europe based in Geneva.
The intern is expected to contribute to the work of the Forests, Land and Housing Division to assist in the production of the UNECE/FAO Forest Products Annual Market Review, xxxx-xxx3, which should include but not limited to:
* Checking national replies to the Joint UNECE/FAO/ITTO/Eurostat Forest Sector Questionnaire
* Support to the graphics production for the publication.
* Research on chapter topics;
* Price series information input to the database;
* Other aspects of the production work, such as web work, electronic links to the online publication.
Building on the experience of previous years, the UNECE/FAO Forestry and Timber Section would like to take stock of the experience of the past years and conserve the information in a report.
The interns should have good analytical skills and be knowledgeable on the use of MS Excel and Word.
The internship requires in-person presence of the candidate at office of the UNECE/FAO Forestry and Timber Section at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. No remote - or partially remote - internship will be granted.
*Performs other related duties as required, including a variety of administrative tasks necessary for the final delivery of the work unit's services;
Work implies frequent interaction with the following:
Staff within work unit/section and peers in department/regional commission; staff of other international organizations working on related issues; academics and representatives of civil society, both NGOs and the business community.

To qualify for the (COMPANY NAME) Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
- Applicants to the (COMPANY NAME) internship programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
(a)Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
(b)Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
(c)Have graduated with a university degree, as defined above, and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
(d)Be computer literate in standard software applications;
For this internship, studies in forestry, business, economics or related field, economics, international relations or equivalent are required
Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the (COMPANY NAME) and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter;
Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
