We're PAM Building based in Telford the premier manufacturer and supplier of ductile iron and cast iron products and one of the largest metal recyclers in Europe. What is the core purpose of the role?
You will be undertaking a full apprenticeship in the Engineering art of Pattern Making. The building and maintenance of patterns and tooling used to produce our castings and cast products. Working as a Patter Maker includes the use of precision CNC and manual machinery such as lathes and millers. You will also use a range of other machinery and hand tools in the application of your craft and learn skills such as welding and the application of continuous improvement tools. All of your work will be conducted while supporting and driving the highest levels of your own safety and the safety of others.
Your learning will be a combination of on the job training and college training. College training will be in one week blocks approximately every 6 weeks and provided by a college in Tipton, near Dudley. Travel to Tipton for training will be required however there may be a residential option if you do not have a driving licence or access to a vehicle.
