As an HR Intern at the Andaz London Liverpool Street, it's my job to support the other members of our HR Team and to be responsible for some of the more generalist duties and responsibilities that our team covers. I report to the Assistant HR Manager and see my role as a great stepping stone towards a long term HR career.
I'm involved in other aspects of the employee lifecycle; I welcome our colleagues and engage with them to make sure they feel comfortable and part of the Andaz Team by inviting them on our social media platforms and organising social activities. I also manage our internal reward and recognition programme, this helps us ensure our employees receive the credit and appreciation they deserve, when they go above and beyond what is expected. They are the creators of lasting memories for all our guests.
If the employees have any questions, they are more than encouraged to come to the office and talk to me as I am one of the main point of contact for general enquiries. The variety in employee requests really means that no two days are ever the same!
Creativity is key to my role and success as I'm always having to develop new ideas for events within the hotel. I use my creativity, to design various different pieces of communication, posters, video newsletters and announcements. It's important our content is engaging and the presentation methods innovative so our messages reach as many people as possible. Social media is the heart of this too and I'm an expert user across many channels and understand how these can be used effectively within a business environment.
All of our activity is aligned to our new purpose of "we care for people so they can be their best" and we really try to drive employee engagement with fun and rewarding events for the employees whenever possible. Most importantly, not only myself but the whole HR team try to embody our brand values of fun, creativity and integrity. I thrive on the variety my role brings to me
