The Role

KC is an exciting place to be, and this role is the perfect opportunity for you to be part of our future capability strategy here at Barrow!
As Capability Leader you will be supporting site operational activities, you will collaborate closely with others within the operations team and wider to provide all capability and development needs across the whole manufacturing operation. You will own and lead all legislative training requirements, development and support of operational and educational capability building, the role will also see you continuously improving our current standards and processes with a desire to make a proactive difference.

What You'll Need

* Work with Senior Leadership Team and Mill Leaders ensuring training needs are effectively resourced
* Support development of and manage capability plans and training matrices which ensure that all individuals are competently trained and skilled to the right level to be effective in their roles.
* Develop competency assessment against SOP's.
* Ensure that the Mill's training systems are effective and that mandatory gaps in training needs are highlighted to team leaders and all legal and mandatory training needs on site are met
* Ensure Corporate L&D initiatives & training are implemented on site
* Deliver or arrange training for other mill objectives, EHS Standards, Quality Standards or corporate L&D initiatives.
* Support site leaders in incident & accident investigation through technical training knowledge & providing training records
* Monitor and report the costs of training
* Record and maintain the training records on site in line with corporate and audit requirements
* Lead ongoing vocational training programmes, including involvement in apprenticeship programmes.
* Own maintenance training compliance from an internal and external audit perspective (EHS,QMS.ISO,BRC etc,), through implementation of an electronic training management system
* Delivery or co-ordination of all mobile plant (and attachments), Crane & Hoist, MEWP and slinging/ lifting training & refreshers
* Delivery or co-ordination of other specialized in-house training requirements aligned to legislative requirements e.g. Manual Handling
* Organise external training bodies to deliver specialist training requirements. E.g. confined space
* We work in a Culture of Continuous Improvement so having experience of lean methodologies and conventional plant operations would be desirable.
