The AR/VR Oculus Concept Engineering team actively participates in concept development and design ideation of cutting-edge technologies. The team is responsible for rapidly building high-fidelity prototypes and development platforms that bring new ideas to life by expressing design intent and user experience. While we want these prototypes to be optimized for speed, the hardware and software should be designed with the ultimate goal of mass production. These prototypes and development platforms will be used to establish end-user value. We are seeking a Firmware Engineer who has a passion for working across disciplines to turn early cutting-edge concepts and technologies into reality. You will be responsible for the architecture and design of software that will drive new concepts and technologies.
FIRMWARE ENGINEER, UNIVERSITY GRAD, AR\VR RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in cutting edge research and development for VR/AR/MR related topics
Code high-volume software using primarily C/C++
Cross-functional interaction with hardware, automation and product design teams at Oculus
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field
Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
2 or more years of experience with C++
Experience using interpersonal skills to achieve effective cross-group or cross-culture collaboration
Demonstrated software engineering experience from previous internship, work experience, coding competitions, or publications
