Job Summary

The Student Intern will support the Director of Quality within the Medical Management Team at True Health New Mexico. The Intern will be mentored primarily by the Director of Quality and exposed to learning opportunities (e.g., project management, working sessions, webinars, meetings, and program management) related to improving health in the populations we serve. The student may individually work with other Directors within the organization.

The Student Intern will have the opportunity to work with a payor and provider organization advancing health through the following building blocks:

* Improved clinical quality, access, and outcome.

* Social determinants of health.

* Diversity, equity, and inclusion.

* Strategic partnerships and collaborations.

* Health communication and literacy.

Role responsibilities

* Community health program development, management, and assessment.

* Assist in monthly health and wellness communications for all health plan stakeholders.

* Assess current community resources to ensure available resources are up to date.

* Survey development, management, and reporting.

* Conduct, document, and synthesize literature reviews.

* Enter quantitative data into spreadsheets, ensuring the appropriate data structure and security.

* Support the development of project deliverables, including reports, presentations, and manuscripts.

* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education, Training, and Professional experience

* Undergraduate or Graduate student in a School of Population/Public Health or School of Public/Health Administration.

* Interest in working with community organizations and vulnerable and underserved populations.

* Willingness and the ability to learn is the most important attribute of a successful Student Intern.

* High level of attention to detail and ability to problem-solve.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

* Results-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Tableau preferred.

* Maintain strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills


This position is a paid internship, and the salary is commensurate with experience.

Job Type

This role is based on the school semesters. Hours worked per week will be managed by the student and preceptor.
