This internship position is located in the Administrative Office of the Investigations Division (ID) of the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS). OIOS is an independent office reporting to the Secretary-General and the General Assembly. ID/OIOS investigates reports of possible violations of rules, regulations, mismanagement, misconduct, waste of resources and abuse of authority. The Administrative Office supports the Division in planning, implementing, and reporting the utilization of resources, and covers all aspects of administration from recruitment, procurement, IT support, and finance.
The internship is for three months with an opportunity for extension, pending on the needs of the department. The internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week (35 hours), under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned
Under the direct supervision of the Administrative Officer and working closely with the Administration team, the intern will be expected to:
1. Analyze and document the Division's workforce statistics, conduct research, and propose a workforce planning and analysis tool to improve reporting, vacancy planning, and staff retention.
2. Provide support to the Division's recruitment activities, including outreach activities, communication with short-listed candidates, preparing assessment, and scheduling interviews.
3. Update the Division's staffing table, address list and telephone directory, as needed.
4. Assist in HR related support regarding contract extensions, special allowances, and others.
5. Maintain and electronically file personal records, such as performance records, flexible working arrangement contracts, and others.
6. Assist with a staffing level review and the preparation of post classification documents and supporting material.
7. Assist with the design and distribution of training or guidance materials.
8. Assist with any tasks related to inventory management, procurement and archiving.
9. Provide other administrative support for remote office operations and to staff members working remotely.

To qualify for an internship with the (COMPANY NAME) Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met.
* Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
(a) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
(b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or
(c) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
* Be computer literate in standard software applications.
* Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the (COMPANY NAME) and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
* Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes a willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing
opinions and views.
Previous experience in the office management, client support and/or administrative tasks.
Previous experience in human resource management is desirable.
English and French are the working languages of the (COMPANY NAME) Secretariat. For this post fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
