The Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) / Division for Sustainable Development Goals (DSDG) internship is for a minimum period of two months with an opportunity for extension to a maximum of six months, depending on the needs of the department.
The internship is UNPAID and full-time.
Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned. The Intern will report to Senior Officers within DSDG.
The Division for Sustainable Development Goals (DSDG) seeks to provide leadership and catalyze action in promoting and coordinating implementation of internationally agreed development goals, including the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
*Assisting in the migration of the sustainabledevelopment.un.org website content to its new platform, Drupal 8
*Helping by making sure that the all the content (pages, events, partnerships, news, etc.) in the current website is properly migrated and it displays correctly in the new platform
*Building and enhancing online modules used by DESA websites;
*Creating online data reporting tools;
*Provide support to staff with website content updates using HTML, Drupal or another CMS.
*Performing other duties as assigned.

The intern is expected to:

To qualify for an internship with the (COMPANY NAME) Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
*Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
a)be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
b)be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or
c)have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation;
d)Be computer literate in standard software applications.
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. Applicants must be a student in a Bachelor's (final year), Master's or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a degree and are able to commence an internship within a year of graduation.
Candidates for the UN Internship Programme are required to cover the cost of travel including visa, accommodation and other living expenses for the duration of the internship.

English and French are the working languages of the (COMPANY NAME) Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the Internship Programme.
