The internship positions are located in the Russian Translation Service, Documentation Division, Department for General Assembly and Conference Management (DGACM) in New York. The internship is for two (2) months from 6 July 2020 to 6 September 2020. The internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of the Chief of the Translation Section/Service or the internship supervisor, as appropriate. Candidates are encouraged to highlight their specific skills and/or experience in their application. They are asked to do so carefully in order to enhance the value of the internship for both themselves and the receiving Section/Service.
Interns will be responsible for the following duties: (a) translating into Russian, which must be the candidates' main language, documents from one or more of the other official languages of the (COMPANY NAME) for training and other purposes and subject to review. The official languages are: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish; (b) performing other related duties as required, including editing, terminological work, creation of translation memories.

To qualify for an internship with the (COMPANY NAME) Internship Programme, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
*Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
*Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or
*Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation from an academic programme.
Applicants who are unable to commence the internship within one year of graduation shall not be accepted.
Professional experience is not required but would be an asset.
Complete mastery of the candidate's main language (the language of the Section/Service in which the internship will be spent) and a good knowledge of another official language. Knowledge of a third official language would be an asset. The official languages of the (COMPANY NAME) are: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.
Candidates will be assessed based on their Personal History Profiles (PHP). Individual interviews and/or tests may be conducted for further assessment.
