Summary
The Assistant Director of Communications is a new position to support all communication efforts at the Hydra Art Project Inc. 
This person will create all communication materials including, but not limited to: general announcements, updates to current and potential clients, the annual impact report, weekly newsletters, community communications. The Assistant Director will also manage all social media platforms, ensuring all communications are streamlined and coordinated.

Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for all written materials—drafting newsletter content, website language, social media messages, event invitations, blog articles, and weekly reports
Leads all art events communications and coordinating outreach so communications are streamlined, consistent, and on-brand
Takes photographs and video (when appropriate) at art galleries and art fairs.
Actively manages all social media accounts
Collaborates with Administration, Development, and Admissions to create and execute strategic plans for branding and advancement, including new collateral, website redesign, and social media
Creates and edits fundraising communications, such as acknowledgment templates, campaign collateral, follow-up letters, impact reports, and newsletters
Collects and manages content to be used in fundraising grant proposals by meeting with internal partners and identifying quantitative and qualitative data points
Prepares stewardship materials in coordination with the CEO of the company.
Other duties as assigned by the CEO.

Candidate Requirements:

Position Requirements
A minimum of 3 years of work experience in communications and experience working in the contemporary art industry preferred
Experience working collaboratively across various departments
Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required
Is a team player and wants to be part of a growing department
Detail-oriented, creative, and takes initiative
Strong project management skills and can manage multiple projects at once
Strong Microsoft Office and PC proficiency as well as experience using the Google Suite and Adobe Creative Suite are required
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent
Experience in education a plus

Physical Requirements
The work environment consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of an office and gallery/art fair. Employees must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for long periods of time to complete necessary paperwork. Additionally, employees may also be required to perform activities which include but are not limited to: walking, standing, climbing up and down stairs, art handling, and lifting. Vision, with or without lenses, must be sufficient to read in both paper and digital formats. Employees must have the ability to hear, read, write, and speak in English. The job includes the possibility of paid travel and accommodation in NY, Miami and Los Angeles.
