You will acquire on-the-job skills that cannot be replicated in a classroom. You'll be instrumental in supporting the internal and external global communications teams at (COMPANY NAME), contributing to everything from the foundational work that keeps the team moving quickly and efficiently to the creative programs that influence the company's vision and strategy. This summer (and potential for fall) you will get exposure and hands-on experience in all facets of communications.
Public Relations: Be apart of team planning by helping with the execution and analysis of communication initiatives and programs. Own daily media monitoring and reporting, tracking (COMPANY NAME) mentions in news coverage. Learn how to extract story angles from current news by tracking general industry trends and current events relevant to (COMPANY NAME)'s work and business. Build a data analysis muscle by brainstorming with the team and helping pull and analyze unique (COMPANY NAME) data to uncover proactive story angles. Enhance your writing skills by drafting press materials, including blog posts, FAQs and interview prep documents Keep (COMPANY NAME)'s press page fresh, regularly posting announcement posts, data stories and more
Perfect your organizational skills by maintaining the team's activity tracker (updating tasks, projects, campaigns, posts, etc. in real-time) Learn more about our business by regularly publishing content on the company intranet. Support the creation of fresh content for (COMPANY NAME)'s weekly company newsletter. Improve your storytelling skills by sourcing unique (COMPANY NAME) employee and event creator stories and creating content to highlight them across various internal channels.
THE SKILL SET
* Completed or working toward a college degree (junior level and up), preferably in a related field (Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, Advertising)
* Understanding of the basic principles of communications, public relations and/or marketing
* Must be computer literate (working knowledge of Google Workspace - Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides)
* Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
* Self-starter, good time management, creative, with ability to communicate in a professional manner
* Ability to work well independently, and within a team and thrive in a fast-paced environment
* Previous internship or related experience a plus
* Positive, "make it happen" attitude and ready to jump in and help (COMPANY NAME) own the rebirth of the events industry.
