The Casting Procurement Team is part of the Nacelle Procurement Department which is part of the overall Vestas Global Procurement Organization. The Casting Procurement team is organized in 4 areas which are: Onshore castings, offshore castings, small castings, and forgings.
The Casting Procurement Team consists of 6 people located in Denmark, Portugal, China, Brazil and India.
The procurement work within Vestas is managed through cross-functional teams in the context of Module and Category Management.
We are responsible for developing the supply base short, medium & long term with a view to always be able to satisfy requirements (KPIs) regarding safety, quality, delivery, and cost and thereby contribute actively to improve the high quality of the Group. All are targeted at optimizing the Total Cost of Ownership and thereby maximizing our value contribution to Vestas.
Responsibilities
* Global responsibility for the Onshore Casting commodity in Vestas
* Supervise, develop, and implement the global sourcing strategy for the Onshore Casting commodity, in close collaboration with the regional sourcing responsible(s)
* Annual price negotiations as well as conducting supplier negotiations and contract implementation
* Coordinate and promote the cross-functional commodity team meetings and performance
* Supplier Account Manager (SAM) responsibility for defined suppliers in the EU - establish and improve partnerships with selected suppliers
* Responsible for selection, qualification, negotiation and contracting plus implementing projects with new, as well as existing suppliers in collaboration with the regional SR's
* Implementation of New Product Introduction within Core Materials in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders such as VPS (R&D), Logistics, Supplier Quality, etc.
Qualifications
* The candidate holds a degree in either Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Engineering and holds a solid work experience within Procurement
* Knowledge and experience related to cross-functional collaboration (Category Management)
* Solid communication skills including fluent English skills are required (both orally and in writing)
* Knowledge related to the casting industry and products is a preference, but not a requirement
* Advanced skills in PPT, Excel & Word
* SAP experience preferred, but not a requirement
