Underwriting Assistant Casualty
Amsterdam, The Netherlands - Hybrid Working
As a member of the (COMPANY NAME) XL Team, in this role as Underwriting Assistant you will be accountable for supporting the Casualty Underwriters for business in the quotation, binding and implementation process and servicing the clients' needs.
You will play a key part in providing and maintaining clients service, supporting the positive image of (COMPANY NAME) XL brand. You will have direct contact with brokers, re-insurers and co-insurers, ensuring that administrative processes are running efficiently and at high level quality. In addition, you will be responsible for assisting Underwriters in the day-to-day management of the portfolio, including possible defined/limited underwriting authority of future book of business. You will provide efficient and high-quality policy administration services for the underwriting division. You will support the whole underwriting process and liaise with other functions (e.g., claims, accounting, reinsurance, co-insurance, risk engineering, (COMPANY NAME) XL insurance network) to ensure best in class service. Effective communication with (COMPANY NAME) XL Insurance network is an important feature of the role.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
· Providing support to Casualty Underwriters (local or international)
· Ensure that the administrative processes related to end-to-end policy lifecycle are run efficiently
· Provide high quality administrative tasks to serve internal and external clients
· Responsible for the implementation of insurance solutions
· Efficient and professional interactions with brokers and customers as well as with (COMPANY NAME) XL worldwide network partners
· Verification of prepared policy documents, invoices, premium and maintain data and systems updated
· Analysis and presentation of insurance contract financial data
· Production of monitoring reports and prompt handling of exception items
· Prompt and accurate resolution of data quality issues
· Ensure that the administrative processes of the international insurance programs are run efficiently
· Monitoring of the premium flows with clients, broker, co-insurers and reinsurers
· Send reminders in case of outstanding premiums
SHARE your talent
We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
· Bachelor's degree, or some insurance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Advanced knowledge of commercial insurance policy forms and regulatory requirements.
· Dutch and English fluency, written and oral
· Strong communication skills in order to work effectively and professionally with various groups
· Excellent organizational, problem-solving, prioritization and time management skills with accurate results
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, responsive to underwriters, brokers, bureaus, and fronting partners in a respectful timely manner
· Strong dealing with ambiguity and cope with uncertainty skills, able to navigate in a complex environment
· IT literacy, Microsoft Office package literacy as a minimum
· A team player, able to work independently, with an open mind and with an ambition to grow in this position
· Willingness to supervise and guide the work of less experienced Underwriting Assistant in the company
