Engineer-Product Safety Assurance
Would you like to work within the Engineering Product Assurance Department (EPAD), a cross-functional team, influencing how Product Safety is delivered within the business, our products and services through all phases of Life Cycle Management?

We currently have a vacancy for an Engineer-Product Safety Assurance at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

As an Engineer you will be playing a key role in governance of Product Safety across business functions and Product Safety assurance of products and services, which includes the Astute and Dreadnought Class Submarines for the Royal Navy. You will be liaising with other business functions and teams to deliver corporate and business Product Safety objectives.

In the EPAD Product Safety Assurance Team, you will be supported by and work with business and submarine technical specialists in the delivery of Product Assurance objectives. This role offers excellent career development and career progression opportunities.

Your Main Responsibilities as an Engineer will include:
Working within EPAD, providing Product Safety management, design and analysis advice in support of business objectives and products and services programmes
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager Product Safety Assurance
Advising and recommending to the Engineering Manager on the appropriate Product Safety technical design and business matters
Delivery of corporate/business Product Safety objectives within the EPAD and advising other business functions in the delivery of their corporate and business Product Safety objectives
Undertaking audits on the Maritime business, products and services Product Safety Management Systems
Liaising with other business functions and teams to ensure successful integration of Product Safety within business, products as well as services processes

Essential Criteria for this role:
Honours Degree in STEM related discipline or equivalent qualification or experience

Application experience of Life Cycle Management

Maritime - Submarines

Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.
