With your Design Engineering experience and passion for power electronics and electric drive technology, you'll be fully supported in developing your expertise in this valuable and sought-after field of engineering by a large team of highly qualified, experienced engineers and managers.
It's a highly demanding part of our business due to it being the focus of our Track25 business plan. You'll be innovating, creating, and working with a large network of new and existing suppliers, while juggling delivery of multiple programmes currently underway at McLaren Automotive.
McLaren Automotive is committed to being at the forefront of innovation, development, and investment over the next decade, and it's our goal to produce an EV hyper-car by the end of the 2020s. To make this goal a reality, we're rapidly growing our Electric Drive team, based between Woking and Sheffield.
You'll be doing the detailed design in Catia v5, packaging, and delivery of the hybrid electric system components. This includes eMotor, MCUs, DCDC converters, chargers, and harnesses. There's lots of new models in the pipeline as well as our current projects, so you're going to be kept busy.
Working alongside some of the best Engineers in the Hybrid and Electric Drive industry and leveraging our unique alliances with industry partners and research institutions, we can help you to rapidly develop your career. The team is around 30 strong currently, and we're expecting this to grow to over 70 in the next couple of years. And this growth means opportunity for you: opportunity for progression; to take on new challenges; and learn novel areas of technology as you help McLaren to innovate.
We're looking for you to have existing mechanical design engineering experience using Catia v5, as well as some knowledge or experience of MCU, chargers, DCDC converters, HV harnesses. You don't have to have worked on all of those systems, but that's the kind of thing we're looking for.
