It is a genuine opportunity for a candidate to be part of a unique internal development project, which will have direct responsibility and provide the technical direction of (COMPANY NAME)'s next generation of Powertrain.
As a Power Electronics Engineer within Product Engineering Powertrain Electrification, you will be responsible for the technical ownership of power electronic circuitry and sub-components through whole product development lifecycle. The role will also require you to lead resolution of key development, launch and ongoing quality issues involving power electronic assemblies and develop and maintain engineering design documentation for power electronics circuitry and sub-components.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, testing and introduction of Traction Inverter Power Electronics components and sub-assemblies in support of Jaguar Land Rovers future electrified powertrains.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
You will have the extensive technical knowledge of power electronics design in a relevant industry (Automotive, Marine, Traction or similar). In addition to strong experience and knowledge of developing inverters with working voltages up to 1000V and power ratings more than 150kW. Furthermore, you will need strong first principles approach with experience delivering tolerance and lifetime calculations.
You will also have:
* Failure mode avoidance experience with demonstrable knowledge of associated processes such as DFMEA and FTA.
* Knowledge of ISO2xxx2 with experience developing hardware work products.
* Competent user of schematic capture tools (Preferably with Altium Designer).
