Job Description Summary:Initiates assignments and independently leads integration and analysis of resource forecasts and/or Estimates at Completion (EACs) for control accounts, budgets, functions or pools; financial EACs for contracts or programs. Leads or consults on the development of performance reports. Initiates assignments and independently leads integration of variance analyses and provides understanding of operational and financial performance to senior management. Makes recommendations to senior management on financial performance and projections using extensive financial knowledge and experience. Leads or consults on the development of cost and/or schedule performance measurement baselines, including earned value, and variance analyses. Leads, analyzes and presents business cases using appropriate indices to maximize profitability and shareholder value. Consults on requirements definition and deployment of common systems, tools, processes and training to improve resource and/or business planning processes.

(COMPANY NAME) Defence UK (BDUK) is looking for a Finance Business Partner to join the UK team. With a range of existing contracts and a pipeline of new opportunities this role will cover a wide portfolio of contract performance, opportunity and problem solution development and business case generation. Proposals for new business will be a significant feature of the work scope.
The Finance Business Partner will take a strong lead in the support of Business Case generation, Proposal support in pursuit of New Business and interface with the Estimating and Pricing Team, Financial Operations team and other aspects of the BDUK Finance team in ensuring smooth transition of newly acquired work into the execution teams. The successful candidate would also be expected to interface with external customers where appropriate to ensure alignment during the acquisition phase.
* Leads manages and develops Business Case Analysis in support of new work acquisition.
* Provision of Financial Support to Ad Hoc Projects that arise in the execution of BDUK's current portfolio.
* Support to the Financial, Planning and Analysis team in compilation of the annual Long Range Business Plan.
* Support to Proposal development, risk identification/mitigation and negotiation for R&D, advanced product development and new and follow-on business.
* Interfacing with the customer as appropriate during acquisition phase to understand constraints and requirements that help shape the BDUK offering.
Education and experience:
Background in Business, Business Administration, Commercial, Finance, Project Accounting, or Project Coordination/Management preferred.
It is desirable that the candidate will also have advanced business acumen and commercial knowledge to support the required Business Case Analysis.
Strong business partnering skills and commercial awareness are required.
Demonstrable skills should also include, written and verbal communication, problem solving, team building, customer awareness and partnering, working in an international environment, experience of large scale programs, business case generation.
Ideally in possession of a professional accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA).
Qualified to degree level in a business discipline is preferred.
