You will be a member of the medicinal chemistry group in our Biopharma division Darmstadt, located in the thriving greater Frankfurt area, Germany. In this position you will perform over two years innovative research on small molecule degraders of disease-causing proteins. You will design such molecules, plan & execute their synthesis and evaluate their activity & properties. You will be part of our cross-functional & global protein degradation group and you will learn and apply state-of-the-art medicinal chemistry and drug discovery techniques. Your tasks will include enhancing our external visibility and scientific excellence through publishing and collaborating with the scientific community and participating in industry-academia consortia. You will be mentored by experienced medicinal chemists and your personal development will be supported by trainings adapted to your professional interests and needs.
Who you are:
* PhD degree in chemistry with a solid understanding and practical experience of synthetic organic chemistry, passionate about the use of synthetic chemistry to address key questions in the field of life sciences
* Know-how and hands-on experience for chemical biology techniques (especially targeted protein degradation research) is preferred but not a strict requirement
* Demonstrated high level of creativity and independence in solving complex scientific problems, experience in working in a dynamic environment and within a multidisciplinary & international team
* Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (both written and spoken); interested in sharing skills, knowledge and enthusiasm by supporting and teaching junior staff
