What the role has to offer:
* Ability to be part of a team looking at Innovative solutions.
* Work closely with the customers and end users to ensure the design and development of new equipment and the in-service operation for their submarine fleet is effective
* Good mixture of computer based and hands on work, where you will get a real feel for the equipment, how it all joins together and how the end user uses the equipment
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join our Land and Air Systems, specifically within Optronics and Missile Electronics where (COMPANY NAME) are the sole supplier of periscopes and Optronic masts for submarines for the British Navy.
You will be part of a team who design, develop and qualify the visual systems for the Royal Navy and other Navy's across the world. You will be responsible for all aspects of Integration Verification, Validation and Qualification (IVVQ) ensuring that the system meets the customer's needs and all regulatory requirements. With the support of speciality engineers you will analyse, manage complexity and risk and review how to measure whether the deployed system works as intended. If there are integration issues or operational failures you will assist in the fault finding and corrective action implementation either in the factory, at the customer's site or on the platform.
You will work closely with the Systems Engineering Manager and multi-disciplinary engineering teams, 3rd party partners, customers and end users.
You be an experienced engineer from a Software, Hardware or Systems background with experience of IVVQ activities and enjoy solving complex problems. You are a customer solution oriented, open minded, curious, rigorous and logical individual who has the ability and awareness to work across boundaries of engineering disciplines. You enjoy solving complex problems and like to be involved in an innovative environment
