The Supplier Quality function is responsible for ensuring our UK and global suppliers make (COMPANY NAME) parts to the correct specifications. This includes single items, sub assemblies and assemblies (how parts fit together)
We also check how raw materials are transformed into forgings and billets. These can be made from aluminium, ultra-high strength steels or titanium.
As part of the Supplier Quality Team, you will be provided with an overview of (COMPANY NAME) Landing Systems and how the function interacts and supports the business. In addition to spending time with the team, you will be given challenges to help develop an understanding of what is required within a commercial environment which may include:
* * Reviewing some product for compliance to specifications
* * Assisting with planning / completing a product process or system audit
* * Reviewing associated documentation and approval / certification processes
* * Understand the links between Supplier Quality Assurance / Procurement / Supplier Performance Management and other functions linked to the product
By the end of the placement, you will have a good understanding and be able to confidently identify the key objectives within the (COMPANY NAME) Landing Systems Supplier Quality function.
The work experience placement is suitable for students in full time education within school academic years 10 - 12. Due to legal restrictions related to health & safety, you must be at least 15 years of age on application.
Candidates will be self-motivated, hard working with strong inter-personal skills. Willingness and enthusiasm is vital, along with confidence in communicating.
A keen interest in aerospace is desirable but not essential.
