Role Summary
The Media Planner executes media buying and contributes to media planning for assigned clients. The Planner is "Master of the details" - capable of running small to medium sized projects with limited day-to-day supervision. The goal for the role is to continue to learn and apply basic media principles.
Role Duties and Responsibilities
· Own, update and present internal statuses
· Pro-actively identify/resolve campaign execution issues
· Independently develop innovative media recommendations and POVs. Own campaign optimisation recommendations. Transform research data into actionable customer insights, observations and conclusions
· Contribute to defining client's media strategy (online and offline) and understand why strategic decisions were made on assigned brands and the implications
·Pull and interpret campaign trending and metrics. Conduct data and consumer profile gathering and assist in the development of results analyses which include insights and implications of data. Perform campaign analysis and identify and resolves issues
·Execute media planning & buying independently. Develop cross channel request for proposals, evaluate proposals and finalise buy recommendations. Be accountable for on-time, on-budget campaigns, and quality assurance of all ad placements in-market
·Participate in the development and use of processes to enable efficient program execution
·Consistently lead internal and external discussions in certain media topic areas
· Become main point of contact between local media teams and clients
· Ability to manage & prioritise multiple projects simultaneously
· Financial management skills required through actualisation, UMB/IRR, and Workflow training


Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required
· Expertise in one or more of the following cross channel media tools and response forecasting (e.g. ComScore @ plan, SRDS, DoubleClick, Ad Relevance, SDS, Benchtools)
· Knowledge of competitive marketplace
·Knowledge of the US and global media landscape
· Competency in media mathematics, financial terminology, publisher T&Cs
· Understanding of online campaign management trafficking/ad serving systems, media technologies including MediaOcean and traffic sheets
· Basic knowledge and assistance in media planning and buying process
· Understand the project strategy and gain competitive knowledge. Understand media goals, objectives & strategies for ad campaign
· Collaborate with the Platform GSK teams to gain efficiencies as well as consult on projects that require additional expertise
· Ability to clearly communicate both orally and in writing
· Proficient in computer skills used to manage day-to-day workflow (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
· Ability to work in a matrix (multi-supervisory) environment; to multi-task, manage one's time, and demonstrate personal organisation and ability to meet deadlines; to take initial direction, then transition to a more independent work style
· Significant experience in pharmaceutical advertising (i.e. deep understanding of pharma regulations)
· Proficient in Excel, Kantar, Competitrak
· University degree required
· Significant cross-channel (offline and digital) media planning experience
· High level pharma/healthcare marketing experience (both Consumer and HCP)
· Attend client meetings and provide timely follow-up. You are very detail oriented.
· Manage media deliverables and communicate specs, program details, and deadlines
· Develop strategic relationships with key outside partners
·Well-versed in vendor landscape, and contribute to agency point of views. Direct and guide vendor activation with project or brand goals understood. Evaluate publisher proposals for completion, accuracy, relevance and potential inclusion

· Write clear, cohesive, client-ready documents. You have strong written and verbal interactions with internal teams (marketing, other capabilities, outside vendors) and possess strong public speaking and presentation skills
