In the Netherlands, where 2200 employees are based, we are located in four cities: Huizen, Delft, Eindhoven and Hengelo (HQ). Together with an extensive ecosystem of knowledge partners, customers and suppliers, we work on radars for naval vessels, cyber security solutions, transportation systems, communication equipment for land forces, cryogenic cooling solutions and research & development for radar tech (in collaboration with TU Delft).
Information about the department
Within the Mechanical & Electrical Engineering department you will work in a multidisciplinary environment. Radar infrastructure is developed, and mechanical and electrical integration is performed. The department is therefore in close contact with other design departments, as well as Final Assembly, and Test and Integration.
About the assignment
We would like to improve our product design process by (partly) transferring the task of the analyst (responsible for finite element analysis) to the design engineer (responsible for computer-aided design). The design engineer should work within a controlled sub-section of the complete finite element model in which (small-scale) analyses can be performed efficiently. Goal of the assignment is to understand the (boundary) conditions to maintain a robust analysis and how to efficiently set-up the process. The foreseen approach is to work on a case-study in which you will do both design and analysis tasks according the current and envisioned approach, discover the boundaries and report findings and recommendations.
Affinity and experience with computer-aided design and finite element modelling is a must.
