Meta is seeking a Research Intern to join the AI Research for Speech and Audio Team as part of the FAIR team at Meta AI. The Team focuses on long-term foundational research in AI. Individuals in this role are expected to be recognized experts in identified research areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, computational statistics and applied mathematics particularly including areas such as deep learning, speech and audio processing, and computer vision. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in producing new science to understand intelligence and technology to make computers more intelligent.

Research Scientist Intern - Speech and Audio (PhD) (Tel-Aviv) Responsibilities

*

Perform research to advance the science and technology of intelligent machines

*

Develop novel and speech modeling and generation algorithms, leveraging deep learning and machine learning on big data resources

*

Contribute research that can be applied to (COMPANY NAME) product development

*

Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various deployed systems

Minimum Qualifications

*

Currently on PhD degree in Computer Science or related fields

*

Experience in PyTorch, Python or C/C++

*

Research and/or work experience in machine learning, deep learning, speech and audio processing and/or Natural Language Processing

*

Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work - authorization during employment

Preferred Qualifications

*

Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources

*

Proven track record of achieving results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at workshops or conferences

*

Ability to communicate complex research in a clear, precise, and actionable manner

*

A strong interest in theoretical and empirical research and for answering hard questions with research

*

Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration

*

Experienced with the development of enterprise-level AI, machine learning and deep learning systems, involving big data management and GPU compute

*

Experienced with training deep neural networks for NLP or speech and audio tasks
