ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager - MICE to drive non-residential event sales across our three properties: InterContinental Malta, voco Malta, and Holiday Inn Express Malta.
This role is 100% focused on the local market, targeting corporate groups, local DMCs, event organizers, and direct evet business. Additionally, the position includes responsibility for sales promotions of our key F&B venues, ensuring optimal exposure and revenue generation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
MICE Sales & Business Development
* Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with local MICE clients, DMCs, corporate event organizers, and agencies to drive group and event bookings.
* Proactively selling meeting spaces, conference facilities, and non-residential event solutions across our three properties.
* Conduct site inspections, client meetings, and presentations to secure new business.
* Collaborate with the Operations and Groups & Events teams to ensure seamless event execution and client satisfaction.
* Negotiate contracts and close sales deals while ensuring profitability and guest satisfaction.
End-to-End Event Management
* Overlooking key events from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up, ensuring flawless execution.
* Coordinate with clients, Groups & Events, and other internal departments (F&B, Banqueting, AV, Front Office, Housekeeping, etc.), and external vendors to deliver seamless experiences.
* Oversee event logistics, including setup, catering, technical requirements, and guest experience.
* Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and brand standards.
* Provide on-site support and problem-solving during events to guarantee smooth operations.
* Conduct post-event debriefs and gather client feedback for continuous improvement.
F&B Sales Promotions & Collaboration
* Lead sales promotions for key F&B venues, such as SkyBeach, SkyHigh, Paranga, BeachClub, Al Fresco Garden, Level 13 with a primary focus on LUMI at voco Malta
* Partner with Groups & Events, F&B and marketing teams to create promotions, packages, and activations for corporate clients and private events.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with local event planners, social event organizers, and private dining groups to drive F&B revenue.
Market Strategy & Reporting
* Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and client feedback to adapt sales strategies accordingly.
* Work closely with the DOSM & Groups & Events department to develop and execute sales plans aligned with revenue goals.
* Track, report, and forecast sales performance through CRM systems and internal reporting tools.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION:
* Minimum 2-3 years' experience as MICE Sales Manager or in similar position with proven experience in the luxury and leisure Hospitality industry
* Driven individual with the ability to consistently achieve or exceed targets
* Self-motivated individual who possesses a "go-getter" attitude, driven by passion to overcome obstacles and embrace challenges with a positive mind-set
* Excellent sales and negotiation skills and ability to work independently with a high level of accountability
* Proven ability to convey, present, and persuade effectively across all levels of the organization.
* Team player who values collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and fosters a positive company culture
