Regional Development Manager - Germany, Austria and Switzerland

(COMPANY NAME) operates as a centralised global organisation from our London HQ. The Regional Development Manager is a critical junction between the numerous company functions and the market and sits within the Global Trading Team. Reporting into the Head of Trade for Northern Europe, and alongside various matrixed central teams in the UK and DE, you will be responsible for the day by day management of the countries, for developing the market strategy and executing it, for recommending local trading activity, providing competitor insight, leading pricing initiatives, and identifying and providing input on relevant commercial or technology improvement opportunities. You will also be involved in global initiatives, and work as part of cross-functional teams in London and Berlin.

You will be a country champion within (COMPANY NAME) and to the outside world; responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Alongside the Head of Trading for Northern Europe, responsible for the day to day management of the countries, monitor sales growth and long term profitability, with a view to improving both
* Responsible for developing the medium and long term strategy for your markets to feed into the overall global strategy
* Provide insight into the local market and competitors. This will include analysis of the proposition of our key competitors, understanding the gaps, insight into price competitiveness etc
* Work with the Global team insight analysts to analyse insight from across your territories, tease out insight and translate into actions
* Responsible for weekly and monthly reporting for your territories across key customer and business metrics
* Responsible for recommendations for and helping the business implement the (COMPANY NAME) global proposition in your country and improve local customers' experience
* Work closely with the Finance team to set sales plans and forecasts and analyse financial reporting
* Work with the Digital Commerce team to analyse category and brand performance and make trade recommendations
* Work closely with the Trade Marketing team to shape the local calendar of events and promotions
* Work with the Performance Marketing team on optimising our paid channel strategies
* Work with the CRM team to continually improve the quality of our CRM program and localised content
* Work with Supply Chain to ensure service levels are maintained and no opportunity is untapped
* Work with other departments such as Customer Care, PR etc to ensure optimum performance in your territories
* Keeping up to date with market trends and innovation in ecommerce, online fashion retailing and logistics, evaluating this data to present recommendations and new initiatives focusing on customer needs and overall customer experience to the relevant stakeholders
* Research and understand the German wider retail landscape, consumer behaviours and general trends in the sector, build a strong network in the market.
* Be a member or leading cross functional teams to support product management or marketing with projects with international scope such as loyalty

Skills and experience you will need:
* Fluent German and English - Dutch a big plus
* Must have experience living and working in Germany
* Pro-active, entrepreneurial and commercial thinking with a strong bias for action
* Good knowledge of local fashion retailers (online and offline) and local (social) media landscape
* Previous experience in ecommerce with good understanding of affiliate models, digital marketing and overall ecommerce dynamics
* You are a strategic commercial thinker; translate customer needs and commercial opportunities to a sound commercial plan that yield results on both short-term and mid-term
* You think fast, work proactively and always keep on top of things even in a very dynamic and fast-paced environment
* Capable to work in a fast moving and ever changing context, able to deal with ambiguity and handle multiple projects simultaneously
* Ability to spot issues, identify gaps and be hands-on in trying to solve them
* Able to zoom out to see the bigger picture as well as zoom in, detail-oriented and analytical: you must enjoy teasing insight out of spreadsheets, whilst at the same time able to detect patterns and tie them to bigger issues
* Creative, curious and innovative - presenting new ideas, approaches and insights to technology, product, ways of working, etc
* Be persistent and tenacious, but use wisdom and judgement to know when to let go and when to push
* Be comfortable with working in global organisations with geographically dispersed and culturally diverse workforce
* Great at stakeholder management: getting information, buy-in and support for your ideas across the organisation will be crucial
