Key Account Manager - Rare Diseases
Location: Belgrade, Serbia

We are looking for a Key Account Manager - Rare Diseases to join our team in Belgrade, Serbia. In this role, you will be responsible for managing strategically important accounts and helping shape how AstraZeneca partners with the healthcare system to support patients living with rare diseases.
As a Key Account Manager, you will play an important role in generating clinical demand for AstraZeneca's Rare Diseases portfolio, building trusted relationships with key stakeholders, and developing account strategies that reflect the needs of the local healthcare environment. This is a highly collaborative role that combines strategic account management, scientific dialogue, cross-functional teamwork, and strong execution.

This role is well suited to someone who is motivated by working in a complex and evolving healthcare landscape, can engage confidently with a broad range of stakeholders, and is passionate about making a meaningful difference for patients with rare diseases.

What you will do
In this role, you will manage individual accounts of strategic importance to AstraZeneca, taking accountability for their performance and long-term development. You will identify and prioritise opportunities across hospitals, supply pharmacies, and other relevant healthcare institutions, with a focus on supporting access to AstraZeneca's Rare Diseases medicines for appropriate patients.
You will engage relevant stakeholders across the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and decision-making unit (DMU), building strong and lasting partnerships based on trust, scientific credibility, and a clear understanding of stakeholder needs. You will also work cross-functionally with colleagues across commercial, marketing, medical, diagnostics, and other support functions to align account strategies and deliver value-based solutions.

More specifically, you will:
* Lead key account management for strategically important accounts, taking ownership for account prioritisation, planning, and execution.
* Develop account strategies and plans aligned with Rare Diseases brand strategy, stakeholder needs, and the governmental and regulatory environment in Serbia.
* Generate clinical demand for AstraZeneca's Rare Diseases brands through compliant, science-led engagement with relevant healthcare professionals and decision-makers.
* Build strategic partnerships with key external stakeholders, including physicians, pharmacists, diagnostics stakeholders, testing centres, and other relevant members of the broader rare diseases community.
* Engage healthcare professionals in dialogue on approved indications, product efficacy and safety profiles, and treatment protocols to support on-label prescribing for appropriate patients.
* Contribute to promotional planning and implementation by supporting the development of the promotional mix and ensuring timely execution in line with the approved Brand Operating Plan.
* Share account and market insights internally to strengthen cross-functional decision-making across sales, marketing, medical, diagnostics, regulatory, finance, procurement, compliance, and other relevant teams.
* Use data and insights effectively to position AstraZeneca as a thought partner and value creator for key accounts, including the use of outcomes research where appropriate.
* Monitor market developments and competitor activity and translate insights into effective account actions and priorities.
* Deliver agreed sales and marketing goals while managing account activities and budgets responsibly.
* Maintain high standards of compliance with AstraZeneca's Code of Ethics, Global External Interactions Policy, Privacy Policy, local regulations, and all relevant company standards.
* Act in line with AstraZeneca values to help build and maintain a strong company reputation with external stakeholders.

What you bring
* A university degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or Dentistry, together with experience as a pharmaceutical sales representative or Key Account Manager, including a proven track record of successfully managing key accounts.
* The ability to understand, assimilate, and communicate scientific information and health economic outcomes data, supported by basic marketing knowledge and relevant therapy area knowledge.
* Proven experience in building and developing lasting relationships with a broad range of stakeholders in complex clinical environments, including mid- and senior-level healthcare professionals and key accounts.
* Strong strategic thinking, judgment, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to set direction, generate commitment, and balance short- and long-term priorities.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, strong planning and organisational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
* A patient-focused, collaborative approach, with high ethical standards and a strong sense of accountability.
* Proficiency in Serbian and English, and MS Office skills.
* A valid driving licence, and willingness to travel extensively within Serbia due to the field-based nature of the role.
* Experience in Rare Diseases commercial or medical roles would be a strong advantage. Previous marketing experience and demonstrated leadership attributes would also be beneficial.
