(COMPANY NAME) UK has an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to join our Systems Engineering Team as part of our world leading Optronics Team in Reading. At (COMPANY NAME), we develop advanced complex products and systems that comprise of interacting sub-assemblies and components. The Systems Engineering Team's primary purpose is to provide the necessary Systems Engineering and Sensors expertise to develop products from requirements capture, concept development, component, design, make and qualification.
This role would suit a Graduate ready to complete their studies in 2019, looking to kick start their career, or individuals with foundational experience in a related Engineering discipline with a desire to undertake a role in System Engineering.

About the role:
Working and supported by our team of experts, you will take on a variety of responsibilities which will form part of the core of your development. You will collaborate with wider Engineering teams in Reading as well as work with teams across other locations. Working under the supervision and direction of a senior Systems engineer, key requirements and tasks are:-
* Interaction with the customer, agreeing requirements and developing the system concept
* System performance calculations, modelling and studies
* Generating the system architectural design, identifying and specifying the constituent components and functions
* Defining how the components/functions will be integrated and tested
* Proving of the overall system. Including participation in trials
* Assisting in the preparation of project estimates and programmes, supporting reviews as necessary
This role presents ample opportunity to learn and develop in Systems Engineering; unlike our Graduate programme you will not rotate around on placement.
Skills, experience & qualifications

We are open to all applications from individuals who have a real interest to learn and succeed in a career in Systems Engineering with either relevant education or experience in a relevant scientific discipline e.g. systems, software, hardware, electrical/electronics, mechanical, communications etc. We would not expect anyone to hold all of the below, but below are some of the key attributes we are looking for in our Systems Engineer:
* Analytical approach and an interest and ability to solve complex problems.
* Knowledge of a software language (e.g. C++) desirable
or mathematical modelling software (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink or MathCAD) desirable
* Knowledge of UML/SysML or Model Based Systems Engineering desirable.
* Competent in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Good communication ability through verbal and written reports and correspondence.
* Environmental & electromagnetic compatibility
This vacancy also requires the individual to be able to obtain full Security Clearance (SC).
