The Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) internships are unpaid for three (3) months with the opportunity for extension of up to six (6) months, pending on the needs of the Executive Directorate. Internship to start in the fall 2020 working remotely due to COVID-19 until further notice.
Responsibilities of the internship position encompass all aspects of the Directorates work.
These responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
*Assist in analysing and interpreting counter-terrorism instruments and laws from a human rights perspective.
*Researches and collects information pertaining to human rights and counter-terrorism matters.
*Assists in the preparation of analytical human rights background and briefing papers.
*Assists in drafting reports, summary notes and correspondence relating to human rights matters, as appropriate.
*Maintains awareness of relevant human rights issues, including at country level.
*Assist in preparing documents needed for the organization of workshops, seminars and briefings.
*Liaises with external partners, as appropriate.
*Performs other related duties as required.

To qualify for the (COMPANY NAME) Secretariat internship programme applicants must, at the time of their submission, be enrolled in a graduate school programme (i.e. Master's degree or equivalent degree, or higher) or in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme (i.e. Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree), preferably in the area of law, political science, international relations, social sciences or a related field, OR have graduated with a university degree as defined above AND, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period from the date of graduation.
Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the Programme.
English and French are the working languages of the (COMPANY NAME) Secretariat. For this internship, fluency in English is required.

WORKING HOURS | Interns must adhere to the established weekly working hours of the duty station where the assignment is located though not exceeding five days per week (35 hours) and a one hours lunch break.
