Description

Veolia designs and delivers services that are vital to human development and sustainable
performance through three complementary business activities: water management, waste
management and energy services.

Veolia Germany Holding which is coordinating the three business lines (Waste, Water,Energy) is looking for "Innovation Project Engineer "

The candidate will support the endeavours and objectives of innovation team, with a focus in the field of circular economy and material recycling (plastic, paper, WEEE etc).

The innovation team of Veolia Germany is supporting the German subsidiaries of Veolia, together with the corporate innovation and business development teams (VERI, BS&P, SI), in developing and testing new products and services, or improving existing operation.

The candidate will join the innovation team in the head office of Veolia Germany in Berlin. The projects are performed with subsidiaries of Veolia Germany and in sites located all over Germany. Therefore, some professional travels in Germany will be required (in average 1-2 per month, mainly per train or plane). Driving licence is required.

Description of the responsibilities:

Support the development and execution of innovation / business development / replication projects together with operational subsidiaries.

Support the preparation of proposals for public grants in German (sometimes English)

Support the search and analysis of "targets" (M&A process)

Contribute to internal reporting on projects and innovation management

Contribute to internal and external communication on projects

As needed, contribute to other innovation activities (startup calls, intern creativity campaigns, foresight or business intelligence studies, market study, patent search etc)

Team work in a multi-cultural, multi-language and multi-partner context

Innovation team is a "on demand support function": reactivity and ability to switch between several projects, sometimes with strict deadlines is required

As a consequence, the candidate will need a strong capacity of adaptation (jumping quickly in new topics) with a quick learning curve … curiosity is an asset!

Although the work is organised as project team, autonomy and self-initiative is expected

Profile required:
Educational background:
Engineer, generalist or with speciality in the field "environmental technologies", "innovation management" or "project management"

Previous experience:

Experience in circular economy / material recycling project (paper, plastic, WEEE) is welcome

Experience in German speaking country is welcome

Experience on innovation management and "agile methodology" (Business Model Canvas, Design Thinking etc) is welcome

Skills:

Basic technical skills (chemical process, environmental technologies) with ability to understand and learn quickly new technical fields and processes

For this position, adaptability is more important than specific expertise

Autonomy, self-initiative, open communication, creativity, team spirit

Languages:
German should be fluent. Good level in English will be helpful.

Other:

Driving licence is required.

Length of the assignment : 24 months
