The Role

Lead the team growing (COMPANY NAME)'s userbase on a global scale.

We're looking for a product-orientated Lead Software Engineer to join one of our core cross-functional teams; Growth.

You'll lead the team driving (COMPANY NAME)'s growth on a global scale. Our user community grew from 11 to 17 million users throughout 2019 and is continuing to scale at a monthly rate of 500,000+.

How do we continue to reach and acquire our users? How do we show them the best of what (COMPANY NAME) has to offer from download to sign-up? How do we personalize each user's journey? These questions will underpin and guide the work that your team will strive to answer.

By experimentation, and leveraging effective marketing technology (PPC, attribution, tracking), your team will seek to not only sustain, but also increase the rate that (COMPANY NAME)'s community grows.

You'll be working in a technically innovative environment, building high-traffic and scalable distributed systems that service 10,000s of concurrent users, mentoring and coaching other engineers, and iterating and improving your teams work based on short feedback loops. Sound like your thing?

Driving the roadmap from a technical perspective, collaborating closely with Product, and translating ideas to code
Helping your team design systems that can keep up with (COMPANY NAME)'s growth

Required Technical skills:

Experience building high-traffic systems servicing 10,000s of concurrent users
Expert knowledge with a high-level programming language (e.g. Java, Scala, Python)
Strong knowledge of systems design, within a modern cloud-based environment (AWS, GCP)

Desired Technical skills:

Exposure to working vertically across iOS, Android, Web, and Backend Services
Experience with Attribution, Referral and Tracking systems (to enable us to effectively track and analyse from where we gain users, and how to effectively reach more)
You have experience building Experimentation systems which enable us to measure the impact of our product hypotheses and guide our decision making


Experience working in a B2C product-based technical environment
Successful end-to-end delivery of your team's projects; from scoping and translating business requirements into plans, to design, implementation and maintenance, whilst coordinating with other teams (and engineers).
Good people management and mentoring experience; we want you to help shape and develop our people
You're experienced in improving your team's way of working (e.g. testing, deployment, delivery)
Reinforce the 'you build it, you ship it' mentality to your teams working methodology, ultimately, owning the underlying infrastructure
Exemplary communication skills, especially in dealing with multiple stakeholders
