About the Role

At Grand Hyatt Barcelona, one of the city's newest luxury landmarks, we are looking for a detail-oriented, reliable, and team-focused Steward to join our Kitchen team on a temporary medical leave replacement contract.

What You Will Do

As a Steward, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organization across all operational areas.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
* Operate dishwashing equipment, ensuring proper use of chemicals and procedures
* Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of tableware, glassware, cutlery, and kitchen utensils
* Support kitchen and service teams with replenishment of materials during service
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
* Manage waste disposal in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
* Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing deliveries in line with hotel standards
* Keep storage areas clean, organized, and properly labeled
* Support general departmental tasks based on operational needs
* Work closely with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

* Previous experience in hospitality or similar roles is a plus
* Proactive, responsible attitude with strong attention to detail
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Commitment to cleanliness, organization, and hygiene standards
* Ability to perform efficiently under pressure
* Good physical condition to handle operational tasks
* Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP is a plus)
* Basic level of English or Spanish; additional languages are a plus
* Availability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
