This position is located in the Information Technology and Business Analysis Unit, Production and Support Service, Division of Conference Management, (COMPANY NAME) Office at Geneva.

The focus of this assignment is the lead of the user support for Indico.UN including documentation and training material.
The programme officer reports to the Indico.UN Project Manager with close coordination with the Indico.UN Senior User and the Indico.UN Project Executive.

Responsibilities

Within delegated authority, the Programme Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
- Monitors and analyzes reported issues and problems, ensures that respective tickets are opened and managed until resolution; drafts and reviews relevant documentations and training materialliaises with relevant parties; ensures follow-up actions.
- Researches, analyzes and presents information gathered from diverse sources.
- Generates survey initiatives; designs data collection tools; reviews, analyzes and interprets responses, identifies problems/issues and prepares recommendations to the business owner.
- Initiates and coordinates outreach activities; conducts training workshops,; makes presentations on assigned topics/activities.
- Works closely with relevant parties within the Indico.UN user community, conference-organizing entities, DSS, and other stakeholders related to a smooth running of Indico.UN, including for access management, accreditation and registration.
- Works closely with technical teams to identify change requests and training needs.
- Creates process flow diagrams for technical and functional data flows. Ensures that a ticketing management system is running effectively and generates reports relevant for assessing the performance of Indico.UN in terms of user support.
- Performs other duties as required.

TECHNOLOGICAL AWARENESS:
Keeps abreast of available technology; understands applicability and limitation of technology to the work of the office; actively seeks to apply technology to appropriate tasks; shows willingness to learn new technology.

Education

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work Experience

A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or related area.
Experience in managing an IT project team in the (COMPANY NAME) and/or international organizations is desirable.
Experience with the roll-out of a new or upgraded IT application to a diverse user base is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the (COMPANY NAME) Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.

Assessment

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

Special Notice

* This position is temporarily available until 31 December 2020, with a possibility of extension. If the selected candidate is a staff member from the (COMPANY NAME) Secretariat, the selection will be administered as a temporary assignment.

* While this temporary assignment may provide the successful applicant with an opportunity to gain new work experience, the selection for this position is for a limited period and has no bearing on the future incumbency of the post.

* Subject to the funding source of the position, the eligibility for this temporary job opening may be limited to candidates based at the duty station.

* This temporary job opening may be limited to "internal candidates," who have been recruited through a competitive examination administered according to staff rule 4.16 or staff selection process including the review of a central review body established according to staff rule 4.15.

* Staff members of the (COMPANY NAME) common system organizations who will reach the mandatory age of separation or retirement within the duration of the current temporary need period are not eligible to apply. * Retirees above the mandatory age of separation who wish to be considered for the current temporary job opening must indicate the reason for their last separation as "retirement."
