The internship position is located in the Cybercrime and Anti-Money-Laundering Section (CMLS), Organized Crime and Illicit Trafficking Branch (OCB), Division for Treaty Affairs (DTA), (COMPANY NAME) Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Vienna (Austria).
The duration is for a period of three months starting from March 2020 with a possibility for extension to up to six months, subject to the needs of the office and the availability of the intern.
This internship is unpaid. The intern will work five days per week (40 hours) under the direct supervision of Professional staff of the Global Programme against Money Laundering, Proceeds of Crime and the Financing of Terrorism (GPML) and Global Programme on Cybercrime.

The intern shall undertake the following duties which may include, but are not limited to:
* Primarily assist the team in public diplomacy outreach, including the maintenance of its online presence on the UNODC website and the Sherlock database, and
* Assist the preparation of the Section's outward facing events, including those related to the annual Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, and others
* Assist the team in desk work, by undertaking primary data-gathering, writing, fact-checking, editing and proof-reading;
* Assist the team in the drafting of input to UN documents;
* Assist the team in preparation of training activities, if needed;
* Research work in the fields of money laundering, terrorist financing, and cybercrime as required;
* Draft summaries of key documents and events to inform the work of the team,
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or (c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation (OFFICIAL WRITTEN PROOF FROM THE UNIVERSITY SUPPORTING ONE OF THE ABOVE POSSIBILITIES MUST BE ATTACHED TO THE INSPIRA APPLICATION);
*Be computer literate in standard software applications;
*Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the Cybercrime and Anti-Money-Laundering Section and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and
* Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
English and French are the working languages of the (COMPANY NAME). Fluency in English i.e. oral and written proficiency is required for this internship.
Knowledge of other UN languages is an advantage.
