Job Description
The ink manufacturing operations team is seeking a PhD candidate for a one year internship in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering for (COMPANY NAME)'s Print business.
Projects will focus on the manufacturing and development of inks and fluids that provide industry-leading performance at best costs for (COMPANY NAME)'s inkjet and 3D print product lines.
Successful candidate will apply subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and recommend appropriate options; and will work on problems of diverse complexity and scope.
Candidate will have ownership of discrete projects and is expected to handle most unique situations. They will have an assigned mentor in whom to seek guidance and advice in order to be successful.

Responsibilities
Drive the design of changes affecting the quality, availability and cost of inks and fluids manufactured at external suppliers and (COMPANY NAME) internal facilities. Coordinate and conduct candidate testing. Lead system qualification tests with affected business units.
Collaborate and communicate with management regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
Infrequent travel may be required, to (COMPANY NAME) manufacturing locations, partner printer divisions, external suppliers and conferences.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will be in a PhD program in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with a strong technical background. Manufacturing and other interdisciplinary work a plus.
Candidates with education, thesis work or job experience in the following areas are of particular interest: Formulation, characterization of submicron particle systems and particle interactions at the nano-scale, pigment chemistry, film-forming mechanisms and characterization, and/or knowledge in color science.
