This internship is in the Legal and Policy Advisory Section (LPAS) of the Human Resources Management Service (HRMS), (COMPANY NAME) Office at Geneva.
This internship is for a period of six months, starting date as soon as possible.
The internship is UNPAID and full-time.
Interns work five days per week under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.
Under the supervision of the Chief, Legal Team or of a Legal Officer, the intern will assist in handling cases before the Management Evaluation Unit and UN Dispute Tribunal (UNDT). He/She will search for precedents, gather relevant documentation; analyze the jurisprudence of the UNDT and the (COMPANY NAME) Appeals Tribunal (UNAT); perform research on a broad range of legal and policy questions related to human resources and the International Civil Service Law, assist in drafting routine correspondence and perform other duties as assigned.

To qualify for an internship with the (COMPANY NAME) Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or (c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation;
- The university degree must be in the area of law;
- Be computer literate in standard software applications;
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the (COMPANY NAME) and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and·
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
Applicants to the (COMPANY NAME) Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
English and French are the working languages of the (COMPANY NAME) Secretariat. For this internship, fluency in English is required; knowledge of French is desirable.
