Buy your winter coat at home! In Canada, they do not sell better winter clothes than in Austria, even if the temperature goes down to MINUS 30°C in Canada.

Sometimes it is difficult to understand the Quebec accent, but you get used to it after some weeks. Most people speak both french and english.
