If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? There are plenty of accommodations around 1km radius of the university, and it is nearly as good as the off-campus university residence.
Personal comments:
The security of the off-campus university residence is excellent, and shops are within close reach. Facilities are excellent... but the location of this accommodation is quite far from the university, and you will have to track uphill if you decided to go on foot. No doubt there is a bus service linking directly with the university, but the timing was quite limited then. Overall, the standar of accommodation is much better than on-campus.

Personal comments:
Leeds is one of the best city to have a great student life in England. There are so many different places, so many concerts, so many bars and pubs... My favourite was definitely the Wardrobe, where you can listen jazz music, or the hifi on sunday night for the concerts(free and friendly)... In Hyde park there is a small beautiful place called the Moorish: you can chill there and have some amazing drinks and cakes!!

More choices of courses could have been offered. Was difficult to integrate with the local students I met in the campus as they're in their last year of study and already had their circles of friends.

I have been learning English for years. I thought that when I went to an English speaking country I would understand many things.However, this did not happen. At first, it was really dissapointing because I could not understand people in the street, but I could understand teachers.So, Ihad to get used to asking for things many times because did not understand what I was being told.Moreover, english people in general did not make any effort to make us understand what they were saying. Nevertheless, in the end, I managed to understand real English1

I wanted to enjoy as much as possible my experience abroad. That's why I spent quite a lot in travelling (I visited lots of places in United Kingdom), I also went out a lot to meet people again and again, I think it is the best way to improve your social life. On the other side i used to try to minimize my expenses in other categories like clothes, telephone...
Travel, Nightlife: was more expensive than at home.
Food, Overall, Housing: was the same price as at home.
Telephone: was less expensive than at home.

Not really, I knew England would be more expensive but I think Leeds is quite a cheap place compared to other cities in UK

I wish i wouldnīt have sended so much stuff to England as it was even more expensive to send it all back after the year abroad.

You have to open for team work, like working in an international environment, and be able to concentrate on the study even if the nightlife/social life is that awesome.



FINAL COMMENTS

Leeds is near to a lot other famous cities in the north of England, like Liverpool, Manchester or York. Scotland is also not far away and worth to visit for a weekend by car and walk in the mountains and green untouched landscape. Unfortunately there are no low cost airlines flying to the airport in Leeds/Bradford. But from London to Leeds itīs about 5-6 hours by bus. Also, traveling by the coach (national express) is a lot cheaper than by train!
